Edwin Flores earned his law degree from The University of Texas, J.D. Dr. Flores holds a doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Ph.D., 1993 in Molecular Immunology and earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, B.S., 1988 – B.S. Microbiology. Dr. Flores scientific training includes molecular and cellular immunology, molecular biology, signal transduction and growth factors.

Prior to forming Chalker Flores, LLP, Dr. Flores practiced with the intellectual property group of Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP and Warren & Perez. Gardere acquired the practice in 1998. Dr. Flores led the biotechnology patent prosecution group at both firms.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Dr. Flores was a Scientific Advisor/Patent Agent in the Biotechnology Patent Group for Arnold, White & Durkee in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Flores also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Nature and Science, The Dallas Historical Society and the Tate Distinguished Lecture Series. Dr. Flores is a member of the Advisory Council to the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health.
